Digital Storytelling

  1. A great storyboarding tool from Storyboard.
  2. You can copyright your work by going to the Creative Commons site and review the different licenses available to put on your work. As students begin to publish their stories on the Internet, it is helpful to teach them about the process of copyrighting their works as well as the different options available.
  3. Here is a VoiceThread handout for VoiceThread, another great resource for story telling and has different levels for educators.
  4. Some music resources: incompetech  royalty free (search by genre), Soundzabound  royalty free for education, historical music that is copyright free.
  5. Musopen provides recordings, sheet music, and textbooks to the public for free, without copyright restrictions.
  6. Check out 31 Amazing sites with creative commons music files you can use for FREE.
  7. Comic Creator from ReadWriteThink using key elements of composition for K-12. Choose backgrounds, characters and props, and add the story text. They provide a Comic Strip Planning Sheet as well. The results can be printed out and illustrated.
